Travel from Home: Relax and Rejuvenate on National Virtual Vacation Day

Our world is consumed and completely transfixed with the idea of time.

Time is fleeting, it ebbs and flows, and we are tethered to it– our time is of utmost importance to us all, and what we choose to do with our time results in a carefully crafted patchwork of singular moments and memories which we come to know as our lives.

As people, we are constantly on the move– bouncing from one place to another, day in, day out. The throes of daily life come naturally to us but in our haste, we often forget to pause and slow down just for a moment in time.

In our hurry to meet our deadlines, our mad dash to catch the last train, the rush of our morning commute to and from work- we have all fallen victim in one way or another to the construct of time. We fill our days with the responsibilities of work and business, often putting ourselves and our happiness on the backburner. We have become obsessed with how and what we use every hour for each day, but we’ve forgotten to take time out for ourselves to rejuvenate, relax, unwind and take a break.

If there is anything we can take away from the events of this past year, it is that time is an illusion- and it truly is what we make of it. Each of us has the power to create and manifest the life we want to live.

On this National Virtual Vacation Day, I challenge you to confront the clock by taking some time for yourself– it could be an hour, it could be a day, to take a pause, reflect and remind yourself that we shape the narrative of our lives through the ways in which we use our time.

The world is crazy right now- to say the least- and we are not able to travel across the world and visit a sun-drenched elsewhere, but we are, however, able to virtually connect with others and take a short ‘virtual vacation' from the comforts of our own home.

COVID-19 may have hindered our ability to be physically together and travel beyond our national borders, but at the other end of the spectrum, it has forced us to overcome this hurdle and find other ways to keep in touch.

Lokafy's Travel from Home experience is our solution in which you can still connect with people in other parts of the world while we are keeping our distance from one another. With Travel from Home, you can listen and learn all about a place you have never been to with a local Lokafyer themselves, all while staying in the comfort of your own home.

Human connection is so much more than our physical attributes and proximity with one another. Connection starts with the bond we have through shared collective experiences, stories and memories.

By connecting with others for just a moment in time, we are able to take our minds off the responsibilities and stress of daily work and life, and in that very moment of connection, we can regain that sense of normalcy that we’ve lost during the pandemic.

Missed connections happen daily– a forgotten stranger on the train, someone you locked eyes with while waiting in a queue– each person we come across has a different perspective, a different story to share. Lokafy wants to help bridge that connection.

Take some time to reconnect, rejuvenate and relax today– you deserve it.
