The Bentway is an art and event space underneath the Gardiner Expressway downtown. In January 2018, The Bentway Skating Trail opened to the joy of locals and tourists alike. Every year, it is open from mid-December to the end of January. It is a free, quintessentially Canadian activity that the whole family can enjoy!

Since it is free, the company does ask that you consider donating to a charitable cause on their behalf. They have joined the fight against homelessness in Toronto. They organize annual events such as the polar bear skate where you wear swimwear or underwear while skating in the cold for a clothing drive for the homeless.

All you have to do is pre-register to reserve a spot and bring an ID. There are various events, lounges and activities available. It is also still open during the Covid-19 outbreak with health and safety measures in place. Come on out and enjoy the Canadian winter!
