Did you know that the Sydney Harbor Bridge is the world’s sixth longest spanning arch bridge and the world’s tallest steel arch bridge? Nicknamed as “The Coat Hanger” due to its arch shape, the bridge was opened on March 19th, 1932 after 18 long years of construction. With a spectacular view of the city including the iconic Sydney Opera House which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the harbor and the city itself, the bridge is a major attraction for tourists throughout the year. The bridge caters to all modes of transport that includes rail, vehicular, bicycles and pedestrians as well.
