Lokafyer Profile: Pauline from San Francisco

Lokafy brings people together through the world of travel, connecting people with places. It’s like having a friend show you around. It’s all about making your travel about people and not places. Our Lokafyers play an essential role in the success of Lokafy. We sat down with Pauline, one of our Lokafyers in San Francisco and spoke about what she loved most about her city and why she decided to join Lokafy.

1.Hi Pauline, tell us a bit about yourself!

My name is Pauline. I moved to San Francisco three years ago for work. I moved from Columbus, Ohio. But before that I was in Tucson (AZ), and before that I lived in France all my life. I love weird bars with sticky floors, the punk inside me really enjoy that. But I am also a history nerd, book lover.I love to read and discover strange stories about the past.

2.Why did you decide to join Lokafy?

Travel for me means culture, history and respect. When you discover a new culture, you learn to know it and respect the difference. I decided to join Lokafy to share this love for travel and my passion for this city and share its culture with anyone who wants to know more. I love meeting new people and exchanging stories about our lives. It is very pleasing. Lokafy gives me a chance to do just that. I learn so much from the travellers and I tell them and show them San Francisco for what it truly is.

3.What do you love most about your city?

San Francisco is a very unique city. It has its good and bad sides. I really love the fact that it is a multicultural city. People are coming from all over the world and it is a very young city (average, people are 40 in San Francisco). Every part of the city is different from the other. In one day, you can walk from Haight / Ashbury and experience the hippy vibe, go to Mission Dolores and eat in a great restaurant at night in Mission. I also really love all the stairs in the city, they can be decorated with tiles or just by the nature around. Some are better known than others but for me the one I like best are the ones going to the Coit tower.

4.If someone comes to visit you, where would you take them to eat?

Honestly, there I a lot to choose from, but I would take them to a nice vegetarian place where they serve the impossible burger. Like Vegan Burg in Haight Ashbury.

5.When you are not working for Lokafy, what do you like to do for fun?

I love to hike and taking pictures. I love spending some time with my friends, enjoying a nice barbecue and some wine.
