Hi Josephine! Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I am a true blue Singaporean, born and breed here. I have a background in the hospitality industry. My first job was working in a hotel and made me realized that I enjoy talking to people. I love helping people because that makes me happy. I am now a home baker, and I make novelty cakes!
What do you love the most about your city?
Green and clean! Everywhere you go, you can see the trees and flowers. We are a garden city! As a matter of fact, do keep a look out for the Bouganvilla bushes on the way to the town from the airport. If you are lucky, they will be fully blooming, welcoming you!
Why did you decide to join Lokafy?
I love meeting people from all around the world, and I am proud of my country. I am more than happy to show Singapore to the travellers. Being a Lokafyer gives me this opportunity! I found out about Lokafy from a friend of mine. She is also a Lokafyer now.
What is your most memorable experience with Lokafy?
My most memorable tour happened with a couple from Germany. They were so easy going and friendly. We chatted about everything. They were curious about things and asked me a lot. That is what I enjoyed the most, a 2-way engaging conversation. It keeps the tour exciting and lively. We still keep in touch now.
If someone comes to visit you, where would you take them to eat?
Fancy restaurants? Nah! Definitely a hawker centre! You will be spoiled with a choice of our local delicacy, and best of all, it’s very affordable. Chicken rice, Laksa, Popiah, etc. Oh! And don’t forget to get a glass of sugarcane with lemon to quench your thirst!
What do you do for fun?
I enjoy boring stuff like reading, music, karaoke and most of all baking! I bake not only for orders but when I am stressed out. I enjoying sharing my creations with my neighbours and friends.
