Lokafyer Profile: Dalila from Buenos Aires

1. Hi Dalila, tell us a bit about yourself!

My name is Dalila, I’m currently finishing my studies of English-Spanish Translation at IES en Lenguas Vivas “Juan Ramón Fernández”. Languages and communication are my passion. My goal is to become a Literary Translator, I love books and reading. I think of myself as a friendly, funny and creative person.

2. Why did you decide to join Lokafy?

I am a people person. I love meeting new people and listening to them share about their lives. So, I thought that joining Lokafy would be a great opportunity to meet new people from different places in a relaxed atmosphere.

3. What do you love most about your city?

What I love the most about Buenos Aires is its cultural life. There are plenty of activities you can do and places you can visit: theatre shows, tango shows, museums, libraries, gallery openings, cafés, street markets, festivals, parks, you name it. Many of them for free! That is just fabulous!

4. If someone comes to visit you, where would you take them to eat?

I will take them to Cumaná in Recoleta. Once there, they can try typical Argentinian food like empanadas, locro, lentil soup, and so many others. All of them are delicious. A plus: even though it is not a vegetarian restaurant, it has many vegetarian options. Cumaná is lovely, the food is really good and not overpriced. Some details: they only accept cash and the place is usually packed, so it can be noisy. But I think it is worth a visit.

5. When you're not working for Lokafy, what do you like to do for fun?

I like to hang out with my friends. A perfect weekend plan would be drinking mate (traditional drink commonly found in South America) in a park surrounded by nature. I’m really into yoga and pilates, I try to do it on a daily basis. I think it keeps me focused. Also, I like baking, my specialty is banana bread!

Thanks Dalila for sharing with us about your city of Buenos Aires!
